The speed and noise of modern life is like a vacuum, once you get sucked into it, it can feel like there is no way out. The long journey of self improvement is a very personal experience. When you reach a point in your life where you realise you need to change direction to move forward it can be very hard to tackle on your own. Sometimes all it takes is a bit of coaching to get you sailing on in your new positive direction. You know as well as I do that if you want to build anything in life you need to start by building a strong foundation, well it's exactly the same if you want to make changes in your life. You must build a strong foundation before you begin, and in life, your foundation is your mind. Whether you want to lose weight, get fit, get the most from your desired sport, overcome stress, overcome bad habits such as drugs and alcohol or follow a life path you have been dreaming about, it is essential to get your mind in the right place before you start. How many people do you know who have tried to make a major life change or overcome a destructive habit and only lasted a week or so on their journey? I bet it's heaps! You may even have done this yourself. This time your life change is for real. I will help you build a solid foundation for you to start to build your new life upon.
Controlling the Constant Flow of Noise
What an interesting and very testing situation we are all in. On top of all of modern life’s daily busyness such as work, kid’s school, kid’s sports, housework, shopping and don’t forget trying to manage good relationships at home, at work and socially. We now also have a constant flow of information we need to deal with on a daily basis, in fact, the greatest information source of all time has appeared right in the palm of our hands, the mobile phone and it is pumping out stuff all day long! Now add all the information from other external sources such as the T.V, daily news, conversations, Oh and then there is the iPads, Laptops, PC’s, PlayStations and Xboxs etc etc! Now imagine pouring all this information consistently into your head! It just does not stop! Eventually, your brain ends up like a garbage dump that has reached capacity.
So how do you control the constant flow of junk that is arriving at the gate of your mind? Good Question, isn’t it? The most common option is to quieten the daily noise with drugs and alcohol and don’t get me wrong, they work a treat! Unfortunately, this method is temporary, and you can find yourself staring at the clock craving 5 O’clock everyday as this seems to be the time society has accepted to turn your mind off. You can also try and quieten the noise in your mind by staring at a T.V or a phone or a poker machine and yes, this numbs everything down for a while, but can you guess what it’s doing? That’s right, more junk, more noise, more stress, more problems! We are all in search of a place where we can hide from the noise for a while and if you think about it, it's the things we are using to quiet the noise which are causing most of our addiction problems.
The other option is to learn some valuable skills on how to deal with all this incoming noise the natural way. Let’s be honest here, this noise is not going to stop, in fact, it is very likely to just get louder and louder. Don’t you think it would be a good time to learn some techniques on how to limit the amount of junk that is entering your mind and how to focus on collecting more valuable, positive information that will benefit your forward progression? With a few simple daily routines your life can become really enjoyable. Imagine cruising along everyday with total control over your mind! Imagine knowing how to turn everything off so you could spend a bit of time with yourself to dream about what it is you really want out of life. The beauty is, once you learn and practice these techniques, you can start to get the magic of life back and it just gets clearer and clearer. Now we must get one thing straight, although these techniques are simple to apply, they are not easy. They require patience, self- discipline and an open mind to try something new. You must agree that everything in life that is great takes time and hard work. Now are you starting to understand the importance of building a solid foundation?
